Other projects in the Surrealism workshops included a drawing session 'what's in my pocket?' where members worked with things from their pockets or bags, reworking them in pencil drawings as dreamy surrealist montages.
This lead to our next project based on the Surrealist game, 'The Exquisite Corpse' which is a literary version of the game many of us know as consequences. Members each contribute to a series of lines that sketch out a story, with their interventions making each story uniquely strange as the tale was passed from one member to the next. They were then given one each of these collective narratives and asked to illustrate the story with pen and ink.
These pieces formed a bridge between our Surrealism Project and next years Spring Ball theme, which by happy coincidence is 'Nonsense'.
